Cosplay at Wondercon 2014

As promised, here's more fun from Wondercon 2014. Attendee's dressed as a variety of characters from various media, which I love(its boring at some cons when people dress as the same character in masses; I especially love to see older characters that are rarely done as cosplay). Ill name the character's for those who are culturally un-hip:

Dick Tracy

The Black Widow

Freddy Krueger and Edward Scissorhands

Jason Voorhees

Queen Emeraldas

The Black Cat and Jean Grey, The Phoenix

Scooby Doo, The Enchantress, and Boba Fat

A special thank you to these and other attendees who were so cool!

I recently attended WonderCon 2014 Anaheim, CA. I checked out the sights, bought a few things, etc. Here are some pics from a vintage Monster World from 1966. From Warren Publishing(Creepy Magazine among other titles). More fun stuff from the Con later....

Back of the Mag with an ad for some of  Don Post's awsome Monster Mask's.
Behind the scenes still from Roger Corman's "Day The World Ended" (1956)

A cool, behind the scenes photo of a young Corman making "Day"

For those of you who wonder what "The Demon Planet" refers to:

If Im not mistaken this trailer was taken an 8mm source so its only B/W. Its one of many videos from my old youtube account. The Original US Theatrical Version will be shown (with three other Bava films) at one of two nights of the September DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA, a retro 35mm(at an actual Drive-in) movie festival in Vandergrift, PA . Its sponsered by one of my favorite sites DVD Drive-in. Sadly, Im never in the area, but if anyone else is interested  go check out their site on the event:

Also see my own page for more info with pics on Mario Bava's classic:

Hercules Unchained (1959): The Second and final appearance as the character by Steve Reeves, now returning with his bride (Sylva Koscina) and a young Uylsees to his home land only to discover it caught between two feuding brothers. Restored Dyaliscope widescreen version, which is rare since the pan and scan version is what is mainly available here in the USA. As with the original, Mario Bava handled much of the filming (as well as the effects and the actual look of these films). Note: this version is missing some scenes/dialogue but is a visual upgrade compared to whats usually shown.

If your interested in downloading this film in various formats, check it out at the Internet Archive:
